World Breastfeeding Week 2026: Breastfeeding Awareness Programme at Regency Lucknow
On 8th August 2026, Regency Lucknow organised a World Breastfeeding Week awareness programme in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, with the aim of creating and spreading awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for newborn babies.
The programme brought together around 35 participants and featured a chart-making competition followed by certificate distribution, creating an engaging platform to encourage awareness and learning around breastfeeding and maternal and child health.
The initiative focused on encouraging the early initiation of breastfeeding, preferably within the first hour after birth. It highlighted the benefits of breast milk for a baby’s immunity, growth, brain development, and protection from infections.
The programme also emphasised the benefits of breastfeeding for maternal health and recovery, while encouraging continued breastfeeding along with complementary foods up to 2 years or beyond, as appropriate.

Through awareness, education, and active participation, the programme reinforced the importance of informed breastfeeding practices for both mothers and newborns.
