The different stages of cancer help the doctors to classify the severity of cancer. The cancer is assigned a stage ranging from I to IV.
Stage I: The cancer is usually small cancer or tumor that hasn’t grown too deep. It is also called early-stage cancer.
Stage II & III: Tumors in stages II and III have grown larger and have made their way to the lymph nodes.
Stage IV: At this stage, the cancer is called advanced cancer or metastatic cancer. This means cancer has spread to other organs and parts of the body.
