It is a corrective surgery that is done to fix or treat a genetic heart defect present since birth. A condition like this causes a change in the normal flow of blood to the heart thus leading to complications. But with proper surgical intervention by our highly skilled surgeons, you can be assured best-in-class treatment & improved quality of life.
When the heart fails to pump enough oxygenated blood to meet the needs of the body’s organs, a heart transplant is needed. While it may be a major operation & involve elaborate pre & post surgery procedures, our team of expert cardiac surgeons follows an integrated approach based on specialized procedure & advanced technology for an effective outcome.
At Regency Healthcare, our cardiac surgical team is expert at using state-of-the-art equipment and the latest techniques to reroute the blood flow to the heart, thereby improving its blood supply and decreasing the patient’s risk of a heart attack.
Arrhythmia as a condition can be extremely uncomfortable for the patient. To provide long term relief from the problem and aiding the patient to lead a normal life, we use advanced catheter based intervention or conventional forms of surgeries (depending on the severity of the condition). Offering in-depth consultation between surgery & recovery, we help our patients get back to their normal routine in no time.
We make use of a multi-disciplinary approach to diagnose and treat patients with a valvular heart condition. Post a proper diagnosis, our team of experts offers suggestions on whether to repair or replace heart valves to prevent them from interfering in the patient’s heart’s pumping ability.
Cardiac Surgery is often needed to address problems such as:
Consult a cardiac surgeon near you to get familiar with the procedures. Regency is one of the best heart hospitals.
Some of the common types of heart surgeries include:
The best heart hospitals provide advanced procedures as well as standard procedures. Consult a cardiac surgeon to understand more about these procedures.
Also known as Limited Access Coronary Artery Surgery, minimally invasive heart surgery includes Port-Access Coronary Artery Bypass (PACAB or PortCAB) and Minimally Invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (MIDCAB or minimally invasive CABG).
It is an alternative to standard bypass surgery (CABG). Small incisions are made in the chest. Chest arteries or veins from your leg are attached to the heart to “bypass” the clogged coronary artery or arteries. The instruments are passed through the incisions to perform the bypasses. The surgeon views these operations on video monitors rather than directly. In PACAB, the heart is stopped and blood is pumped through an oxygenator or “heart-lung” machine. MIDCAB is used to avoid the heart-lung machine. It’s done while the heart is still beating.

While heart surgery can’t cure heart disease, it should relieve chest pain and help you live longer. Major surgery is always risky, however, a minor procedure may not give you the relief you want. 8-10 years after a heart bypass operation, mortality increases by 60-80 %
Yes, there are newer treatments that have been introduced. Clogged arteries occur when the calcium deposits, fats, salt and fibre accumulates within the walls of the artery. The clogged arteries put a person at risk of heart attack. The other treatments available besides Bypass Surgery are Angioplasty and Stent.
