Terms and Conditions for Doctors Offering Virtual Consultations:

By agreeing to provide consultation services through this platform, you confirm the following:

  • Medical Registration: You are a registered medical practitioner listed in either the Indian Medical Register or a State Medical Register, as per the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
  • Compliance with Rules: You will adhere to all applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines concerning virtual consultation services, both current and future.
  • Professional Conduct: You agree to follow the Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette, and Ethics) Regulations, 2002.
  • Display of Registration Number: You will prominently display your registration number issued by the Medical Council of India and/or State Medical Council on all relevant documents, such as prescriptions, websites, and electronic communications related to virtual consultations
  • Patient Introduction: You will begin each consultation by introducing yourself, stating your name and medical qualifications.
  • Verification of Age: At the start of the consultation, you will verify the patient’s age, and if necessary, request proof of age. For minors, you will only proceed with the virtual consultation if an adult guardian is present, whose identity must also be confirmed.
  • Respect for Patient Preferences: You will respect the patient’s choice and will not insist on a virtual consultation if they prefer an in-person visit or explicitly request one.
  • Clinical Judgement: If you feel that a diagnosis or prescription cannot be accurately provided through virtual consultation, you will indicate this on the prescription and recommend that the patient seek in-person care at an appropriate medical facility.
  • Emergency Situations: In emergency cases, you will advise the patient to seek immediate in-person care from a registered medical practitioner.
  • Prescribing Medications: You will ensure all prescriptions comply with the applicable guidelines and do not violate the Drugs and Cosmetic Act, 1940. You will not prescribe medications listed in the Prohibited List of the Telemedicine Guidelines.
  • Confidentiality: You will ensure that patient records, data, and images are kept confidential and are not misused in any way.
  • Professional Standards: You will uphold the same professional and ethical standards in virtual consultations as in traditional in-person care. Despite the limitations of telemedicine, you will make every effort to gather sufficient medical information before exercising clinical judgment.
  • Legal Jurisdiction: Any disputes arising from these services will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Kanpur, UP.
