Patient testimonials

Here’s what our patients have to say about our services..

My partner and I visited the Regency City Clinic in Kanpur following several failed fertility treatments at an earlier fertility clinic for high oestrogen levels. The staff members were very professional and empathetic. The preliminary visit resulted in a gynaecological test, that led to the early diagnosis of a mild ovarian dermoid cyst. Following the removal of the cyst, we were successful in our first IVF trial. I have been blessed with a baby boy 2 months ago. Thank you, Regency!

Kanpur

I was very apprehensive about being diagnosed with painful stones in my kidney. I was afraid of undergoing surgery. After, meeting with renal specialists at Regency, I found out that every stone does not require an operation. With modern techniques of ESWL (Lithotripsy) PCNL & URS, which are non-invasive, I finally got rid of the stones for all times.

Rahul Trivedi

I came to Regency Hospital, Kanpur for the treatment of my liver condition. We learned about Regency through friends in my workplace. The team at Regency provided me with top-notch service and personalized attention, much more than I expected. The staff is very helpful and cooperative. I already have and will surely recommend this remarkable health institution to my family and friends in the future.

Udit Kumar

Kanpur

I had terrible pelvic pain from the last 6-7 months, and that’s when I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts. Thinking and reading about the cysts made me horrified, but I wanted to cure myself as soon as possible. My aunt, being a doctor herself, recommended Regency Hospital for the treatment of my cysts, and I went ahead with her opinion. From one month, I have been regular with my periods, I have no pelvic pain and I have gotten rid of the cysts. Thanks, Regency!

What is Psychiatry? How is it different from Psychology?

Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that deals with the treatment of mental illness, emotional disturbances, and abnormal behaviour. Psychiatrists look at biological, psychological and neurochemical abnormalities to diagnose mental illnesses and prescribe medications to treat them.
On the other hand, Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behaviour. Individuals who practice Psychology are known as Psychologists and study how human beings think, behave and feel in different social settings. They are experts in human behaviour.

Who is a Psychiatrist?

A Psychiatrist is a certified medical professional that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental illness and psychological problems. Psychiatrists are not only trained to diagnose and manage mental illness but are also adept at providing psychotherapy (talk therapy/counselling). They can interpret blood tests and other investigations done by medical doctors.

When should I see a Psychiatrist?

There are several signs that you might benefit from visiting a psychiatrist, including:

  • Problems adjusting to life changes
  • Anxiety or worry
  • Lasting depression
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Hurting yourself
  • Obsessive thinking
  • Hallucinations or delusions
  • Uncontrollable alcohol or drug use
  • Body image problems
  • Poor concentration
  • Emotional outburst
  • Sleep issues
If I see a psychiatrist, will I have to take medication?

If you are working with a psychiatrist, a lot of the treatment may be focused on medication management. Sometimes medication alone is enough to treat the mental illness. Sometimes a combination of medication and psychotherapy or counselling is needed. If that is the case, the psychiatrist may provide the psychotherapy, or the psychiatrist may refer you to a counsellor or other type of mental health professional.

How does Psychotherapy (Talk therapy) help?

Depending on the specific type of psychotherapy that is being used, the goal is to help people feel better equipped to manage stresses, understand patterns in their behaviour that may interfere with reaching personal goals, have more satisfying relationships, and better regulate their thinking and emotional responses to stressful situations. If someone has a form of mental illness such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or an anxiety disorder, psychotherapy also addresses ways in which the illness affects their daily life, focuses on how to best understand the illness and manage its symptoms and follow medical recommendations.

How long does the treatment last?

Certain mental illnesses require just a couple of visits, and others require lifelong treatment. You should seek treatment with your nearest psychiatrist as soon as possible, for the best outcome.
