Endocrine disorders are associated with the endocrine glands. Various endocrine glands in our body produce different hormones responsible for vital functions. The deficiency of respective hormones can cause several problems, called endocrine disorders. The endocrine system regulates glucose levels in the blood and manages growth, thyroid, sexual dysfunction, irregular menstrual cycles in women, and other hormonal imbalances. There are several risk factors and diseases associated with an irregular endocrine system. Some of them are mentioned below.

Hyperglycemia is the medical term for high blood sugar. This is a condition that often affects people who have diabetes. It happens when the body either has too little insulin or when can’t use insulin properly to turn glucose into energy. This means, there’s an excessive amount of sugar circulating in the blood plasma.

Diabetes is a global issue, affecting hundreds of millions of people worldwide. Many people describe diabetes as being a pandemic. It is a chronic disease that is associated with uncharacteristically high levels of glucose in the blood. One of the largest endocrine glands, the thyroid influences almost every cell in our body. It is responsible for the regulation of our metabolism and weight by controlling the fat-burning process. Apart from this, thyroid hormones are also required for the growth and development of children and in nearly every physiological process in our body. Weighing somewhere between 20 and 60 grams, the thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped gland found inside your neck, right under your larynx or voice box.
